Optical phenomena observed in the atmosphere: physical foundations of rainbow, galo and fatamorgan phenomena
Abstract
This article analyzes in depth the physical mechanisms of the main optical phenomena observed in the atmosphere - rainbow, galo and fatamorgana phenomena, the conditions and properties of their formation. The main purpose of the study is to study the theoretical foundations of optical phenomena in the atmosphere from the point of view of modern physics and determine their dependence on atmospheric conditions. Among the research tasks are: Analysis of the physical mechanisms of rainbow, galo and fatamorgana phenomena; to study the dependence of these phenomena on atmospheric parameters; to determine the conditions of their observation; to improve the methods of prediction. The study was carried out on the basis of methods of systematic analysis of existing scientific literature and theoretical physical modeling. As a result of the study, the main parameters affecting the formation of atmospheric optical phenomena were identified, the conditions and frequency of their observation were studied. Optimal meteorological conditions and observation times were set for each event. In the context of Global climate change, changing trends in these phenomena have been identified. Based on the results obtained, new methods for predicting atmospheric optical phenomena were proposed. The results of the study are of significant practical importance in the fields of Atmospheric Physics, Meteorology and climatology.
