This article analyzes the technologies of protecting the railway bed constructed in difficult conditions against erosion using modern methods. Ways of increasing the local and general priority of slopes using synthetic materials are presented. When strengthening slopes, synthetic materials are used as a protective layer that prevents their weathering under the influence of water, as well as methods of filtering, in some cases consisting of mineral materials, which increase the priority of soils in the zone of the physical platform of the bed.
The technological sequence of forming a protective layer against erosion of the railway earthen slopes is presented, which involves manual and partially mechanized filling of the filler in the cells of volumetric geogrids.
In addition, the products of enterprises producing various structures for slope protection in developed countries in recent years have been studied. The technology of laying geosynthetic materials, geotextiles and volumetric geogrids on railway bed slopes is also presented. Methods of using various combinations of the above methods to strengthen slopes and improve water drainage are described.
