The article examines the problem of optimizing the operation of an internal combustion engine by adjusting the orientation of a set of spark plugs in the combustion chamber. The calculation of the combustion process of the fuel-air mixture has been performed. Mathematical models that describe complex combustion processes in an internal combustion engine are considered. The effect of the angle of the spark plug electrodes on fuel efficiency and environmental performance of spark-ignition engines has been studied. The conducted experimental studies with a change in the orientation of the spark plugs can significantly speed up the combustion process as a whole, which leads to increased efficiency, as well as increase the anti-knock properties of the engine.
