The article discusses issues related to assessing the stress-strain state of the Varzik earth dam located in the Fergana Valley in a state of plane deformation, taking into account its own weight and the hydrostatic pressure of water in the reservoir, as well as the state of soil water saturation. The stress-strain state of the earth dam was assessed based on a developed mathematical model in a flat form, a calculation method and an algorithm. The actual design features of the Varzik dam and the components of the stress-strain state, the main and maximum tangential stresses, taking into account the operating conditions when filling the reservoir to the normal backwater level, were studied.
