This article provides a comprehensive analysis of the factors influencing the sun's ultraviolet radiation on railway workers during their professional activities in open areas. The spectral composition of ultraviolet radiation, the mechanisms of its biological (positive and negative) effects on the body, as well as UV index indicators based on international standards and average statistical values for the territory of Uzbekistan were scientifically assessed. The results show that between April and September, employees working outdoors are at high risk of exposure to ultraviolet radiation. In this regard, to ensure occupational safety in railway transport, the development of innovative technical solutions, sanitary and hygienic standards, and preventive measures aimed at reducing the harmful effects of ultraviolet radiation has been identified as an important scientific and practical task.
