The paper proposes a methodology for expert evaluation aimed at ranking the factors that influence the minimization of annual railway sand drifts. A priority scale has been established, identifying annual precipitation as the dominant factor. The study reveals that the primary mechanism for reducing sand drift intensity is the spontaneous vegetation of sand substrates, initiated exclusively by atmospheric precipitation, thereby eliminating the need for artificial seeding.
